Paul Craig Roberts is one cranky old conservative and that’s a good thing because when someone like him writes something like that it can’t be immediately dismissed by the majority of “sensible” people (conservatives and “moderate” liberals) as an alarmist and paranoid statement made by some dirty anarchist, peace-loving hippie, criminal sympathizer, or grouchy dissident – i.e. those people whose research and opinion don’t count in mainstream public discussion for whatever reason.
