Dahlia Lithwick of Slate has a good discourse on recent developments with the Department of Justice in regards to the Gitmo detainees. Apparently, the secret evidence used to justify holding the combatants in Guantanamo Bay may be ‘lost’. There is some digression into the Wiretapping scandal, but that fits within the piece. A good read to catch up on the situation.
“Is the government taking the position that this evidence is both critically, vitally, and hugely important to national security, but also, um, lost?”
